This is the number one role in finance and will take full ownership for all accounting, finance, controls, risk and commercial decision-making.
Our client is a privately owned and sub £50m turnover business with a very exciting future. I would describe them as a scale-up business with a start-up mindset.
They have a highly entrepreneurial, fast-paced and creative board.
We are looking for an experienced Finance Director / CFO who has a track record in driving commercial growth.
The scope and potential of this role is very exciting. This company has a great platform to really grow organically or through investment & M&A.
Ideally, we are looking for someone who can immediately come in and execute what best-in-class looks like.
We need a hands-on finance leader who can tick the following boxes.
- Qualified Accountant with a strong academic background.
- Have had a stable and progressive career.
- Experienced technically in building and leading a finance function.
- Have a commercial and strategic mindset.
The Role
The successful Chief Financial Officer will take responsibility for the following:
- Act as a true business partner to the other members of the senior leadership team.
- Build, develop and manage a best-in-class finance function with a team of 4-5 people.
- Manage all key external relationships – audit, legal, banks and investors.
- Act as a visible business partner to key customers and suppliers.
- Take full responsibility for all statutory and legal accounting requirements.
- Drive a best-in-class FP&A and MI function.
- Oversee all processes, controls, and governance.
- Implement controls and frameworks to manage and mitigate company risk.
- Be a strong people leader with an effective communication style.
- Oversee all budget requirements, planning and forecasts.
- Manage all Tax and Treasury strategies.
- Prepare and present all board packs and monthly management accounts.
- Create a robust cashflow forecasting model.
- Manage investor relationships, M&A and funding.
- Be a visible leader across the company, uploading values and culture.
Your Profile
We are looking for a talented finance leader (Finance Director / CFO), who has a track record in growing and scaling businesses. You might have been a divisional finance director looking to step up, or someone at this level looking for an exciting move.
