Christmas Podding: Day 4 – Mince Pies and Moral Obligations 🎄

Video

Welcome back to Lapland, where Paddy’s festive challenge has us all curious: a different mince pie every day in December. So far, Aldi is leading the pack – but there’s still a whole month to go. Who will take the mince pie crown?

On a more serious (but still festive) note, today we tackled an important question for December: what should you do with your interims over the holidays?

Here’s our advice for hiring managers:

  • Extend if you can. It’s a nice thing to do and ensures continuity into January, avoiding the scramble to restart projects after the holidays.
  • Plan ahead. Interims know the market slows in December, so they’re likely looking for their next assignment weeks before finishing. Communication is key to avoid losing great talent.
  • NI changes are coming. With headcount challenges on the horizon, contracts extending into or beyond April 2024 may be a safer bet for both interims and employers.

If you’re working with interims now, don’t wait – have those conversations and secure your plans for the new year. And, of course, if you need a recruiter’s help, you know where to find us.
