Welcome back to the We Do Grotto! While Paddyās mince pie marathon continues (Aldi still in the lead for now), today weāre tackling a hot topic: Christmas networking.
Is it all just mulled wine and mince pies, or could it actually be worth your time? Hereās what we think:
- In-person trumps virtual. After years of Teams calls, nothing beats being in a room with real people. If you can go, make the effort.
- Be selective. Think about where you are in your career and choose events that align with your goals ā donāt waste time at gatherings that wonāt help you grow.
- Push yourself. Networking isnāt always easy (especially for the self-proclaimed grumpy ones among us), but meeting just one key person could make all the difference.
The takeaway? If itās worth doing, push yourself to go ā but if itās not aligned with your goals, itās OK to sit this one out. Just donāt let mince pies and mulled wine be the only thing on your December calendar.
