European Tax Manager

Employment type: Permanent
Salary: 85k/year - 95k/year

This is a rare opportunity to join a global market leader with billion dollar revenues in a newly created role which will establish their in-house tax function in Europe.

This business manages to blend a global corporate environment with the collaborative family feel more associated with a smaller organisation and places huge emphasis on developing talent within the organisation wherever possible.

We're looking for an innovative international tax professional who can provide strategic advice and tax planning strategies to finance leadership across the UK and Europe and while advising and supporting the US HQ.

If you aspire to lead in an international tax environment then please apply to find out more

Wish List

  • 5 years + in tax focused roles
  • Experience delivering tax advisory and compliance/reporting in multi-jurisdictional environments (ideally covering UK and European regions)
  • Formally qualified (ACA/ACCA/CPA/CTA)
  • High EQ with the ability to build relationships across regional leadership teams and with external tax advisors
  • Preferably some experience training/working in a tax role within practice, however this isn't essential

The Role

As the European Tax Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Ensure compliance with the OECD’s Pillar Two framework, including the implementation of global minimum tax rules and reporting requirements.
  • Review US and local GAAP tax provisions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Support Transfer Pricing Manager to implement policies and create documentation, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations. Conduct regular reviews and updates to transfer pricing strategies.
  • Support developing and implementing tax planning strategies to optimise the company’s tax position and minimise tax liabilities across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Partner with Global Finance leaders to manage tax audits and disputes, working closely with external advisors and tax authorities to resolve issues and mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate with finance, legal, and other departments to ensure alignment on tax-related matters and support business initiatives.
  • Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations in Europe and the US, and assess their impact on the company’s tax position.

Your Profile

You will be an experienced, fully qualified accountant, ideally with additional tax qualifications (CTA etc).

You'll likely have trained in an accounting practice but have now gained in-house tax experience in industry and be looking for a role where you can lead and direct a tax function in a global organisation.

You will be a credible business partner who has the confidence to advise and guide senior stakeholders on tax strategy and decisions while also keeping abreast of tax technology and compliance/reporting best practice.

Experience of US tax reporting would be beneficial but isn't essential.

Salary & Benefits

£85,000-£95,000 plus 10% bonus and exceptional additional benefits.

The role is offered on a hybrid basis, 3 days in office near Reading. Ad-hoc travel will be required to Europe and the US.
