We Do Group are recruiting a Senior Corporate Tax Manager to join a dynamic and collaborative team, taking the lead on a portfolio of corporate tax clients ranging from large companies and groups to ambitious owner-managed businesses. With around 80% of the work focused on advisory projects, you’ll play a key role in delivering a wide range of exciting consultancy assignments — from corporate reorganisations and R&D tax to share schemes and international tax matters. You’ll work closely with partners to identify and deliver tax planning opportunities, while overseeing compliance work to ensure deadlines are met and client expectations are exceeded.

You’ll be hands-on with compliance management, reviewing corporation tax returns, advising on liabilities, and handling client queries with efficiency and confidence. Based with flexibility between client sites and our Guildford office, this role is ideal for a proactive and commercially minded tax professional looking to make a real impact within a supportive and forward-thinking firm.

THE ROLE

The Senior Corporate Tax Manager will have overall responsibility for the compliance for a small number of corporate tax clients including large companies, owner managed businesses, groups and sector specific companies. The role will be approximately 80% advisory and 20% compliance work.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Working on a broad range of ad hoc tax consultancy assignments is a considerable part of the role. This may include reorganisations, R&D tax, share schemes, property hive ups, international tax etc
  • Identifying tax planning opportunities and following these through with the Tax Partner and the relevant partners
  • Overall responsibility for the compliance function for a portfolio of corporate tax clients. This includes:
  • Preparation and review of corporation tax returns for a range of complex clients
  • Monitoring tax return progress to ensure timely completion and submission to HMRC
  • Advising corporate tax clients of tax liabilities due on a timely basis
  • Liaising directly with clients to ensure both accurate and prompt completion of tax returns and submissions
  • Communicating effectively with client’s both orally and in writing
  • Dealing with all client queries promptly and efficiently
  • Reporting to the client partner on all matters relevant to the client’s tax affairs
  • Management of Work in Progress and timely billing
  • Supporting the wider tax team and mentoring and developing junior members of staff

YOUR PROFILE

  • Qualified Accountant - ACA, ACCA, CA, CTA
  • Effective communicator - written & verbal
  • Strong advisory experience, gained in public practice
  • Background corporate tax knowledge - gained within generalist accounting or tax-specific role
  • "Get it done" mindset with mentality to go and find the right answer

SALARY & BENEFITS

  • £85,000 - £100,000
  • Hybrid working - two days in the office, 3 days from home
  • Flexible working - core hours 10.00-16.00, 35hr week. Start from 8.00. Finish by 18.00
