We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to support a growing accounting practice based near New Malden.

This is senior position that reports directly to the founding partner (a true people person and keen mentor)and requires someone with a keen eye for detail and commercial mindset who can advise a varied client base of growing SMEs and UHNWI's.

This is a unique opportunity, with scope to take on a partnership position in the coming years and a real desire from the existing ownership to develop someone who could take the business forwards without their input in future.

Wish List

  • Qualified or latter stage studier accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA) or QBE (with extensive relevant experience)
  • Prior experience managing reporting and compliance for multiple entities or businesses on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis
  • A people person who is comfortable providing direct advice to clients and stakeholders
  • Any experience in an accounting practice would be advantageous but isn't essential
  • Any experience of tv/film/media production accounting would be a bonus
  • A capable IT user - Excel, Word etc

The Role

The successful Senior Accountant will be responsible for the following:

  • Deliver accurate and insightful management accounts and commentary for a varied client base
  • Lead the month-end and year-end closing procedures for multiple clients
  • Co-ordinate the year end statutory accounts processes (and audits as applicable) including dealing with queries from external accountants.
  • Perform monthly detailed Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss reconciliations, maintaining schedules throughout.
  • Oversee and contribute to the preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns.
  • Oversee Monthly payroll preparation.
  • Deliver budget preparation and analysis as required by clients.
  • Provide commercially relevant accounting advice to clients as required
  • Support clients with business administration activities e.g. incorporating companies, creating/registering tax accounts, liaising with HMRC etc

We need someone who is diligent, pro-active and enjoys advising and guiding accounting and business decisions for varied stakeholder groups.

Great attention to detail and an ability to handle client facing activity is key!

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who has an established career in accounting and will work towards developing their own client base and networks in time. This experience may have been developed in an accounting firm or industry but it's essential that you can demonstrate multi-entity or multi-company financial management in prior roles.

Part-time flexibility could also be offered with this role for the right person and will be agreed on a case by case basis however the preference would be for at least c. 30hrs per week as a minimum.

Salary & Benefits

£50,000 - £60,000 plus study support (if required) and benefits. This role is based in New Malden with parking on site and good access to public transport links.
