Our client is based in Central London and is one of the most people focused businesses we work with. They have a close knit finance team who have established a slick finance function with both established processes and effective systems over the last 2 years.

This hands on Accounts Assistant role has a focus on AR and revenue and will be reporting directly into the Financial Analyst. It offers a chance to gain real hands on month end accounting, reporting and analysis skills alongside maintaining a core AR skillset.

Wish List

  • ACCA/CIMA studier or AAT Level 3 and above
  • At least 2 years of experience in an accounts receivable focused role
  • Strong double entry skills
  • A people person who is confident engaging with internal and external stakeholders daily.
  • Strong systems and Excel skills (experience with Vlookups and Pivot tables)

The Role

This Accounts Assistant - AR role will be involved in the following:

  • Manage accounts receivable processes end to end, including sales invoicing, reconciliation of accounts receivable and customer/employee queries.
  • Support month-end process including posting monthly journals related to accrued and deferred revenue/receivables.
  • Perform weekly bank reconciliations and posting of bank receipts.
  • Complete preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations for receivables
  • Reconcile prepayment / deferred revenue schedules with the finance system.
  • Produce weekly sales reports
  • Post sales orders, invoices and credit notes in the ERP system
  • Support VAT preparation and submission.
  • Maintain fixed asset register, including posting of interest and depreciation journals
  • Manage new customer set up and onboarding forms as required
  • Provide cover for accounts payable processes when required.
  • Support relevant month end financial analysis and explain variances where appropriate.
  • Assist in ensuring a strong internal control environment is developed and maintained.
  • Assist in the preparation of information/schedules for statutory accounts and support with auditor queries.

Your Profile

We are looking for an enthusiastic, humble and hard working finance professional who is looking to progress their career over the next 2-3 years.

You'll need a good grasp of double entry accounting, as well as exposure to accounts receivable/billing/credit control allied to a can-do mindset. There is real scope for this role to take on more accounting and analysis duties over time so it's key that you are keen to keep developing yourself professionally.

The ability to work effectively in Excel using Vlookups/Pivots would also be beneficial.

Salary & Benefits

£34,000-£37,000 pro-rata plus study support and benefits. The business operate a hybrid policy 2 days per week in office. This role could be full or part time (30 hrs per week) but they would ideally like part time hours spread across 5 days, however this could be slightly flexible for the right person.
