Financial Controller – Step Into a No.1 Finance Role in a High-Growth Tech Business

A fast-growing software company in the Technology sector is looking for a hands-on, commercially driven Financial Controller ready to step into a No.1 finance role. Backed by an inspirational Group FD, this is a rare opportunity to take ownership of finance in a scaling SME, shape financial strategy, and directly influence business performance.

This is a role for someone who thrives in fast-moving environments, enjoys building robust finance functions, and wants a clear path toward Finance Director leadership.

The Role

Reporting to the CEO and partnering with the Senior Leadership Team, you’ll own day-to-day financial operations while driving strategic insight, control, and scalability.

Key responsibilities

Own monthly and quarterly group reporting, ensuring IFRS compliance and high-quality delivery
Strengthen financial systems, controls, and reporting to support business growth
Lead budgeting and forecasting, maintaining accuracy and driving forward planning
Act as finance partner to department heads, guiding commercial decision-making
Manage statutory reporting, audits, and external advisor relationships
Deliver insights to improve profitability, cash flow, and operational efficiency
Oversee risk management, governance frameworks, and internal controls
Ensure tax and statutory obligations are completed accurately and on time
Lead and develop a small, high-performing finance team

About You

Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
Proven experience as a Financial Controller or senior finance leader
Strong IFRS (particularly IFRS15) expertise
Commercial mindset with sharp attention to detail
Confident engaging senior stakeholders and driving change
Proactive, hands-on, and comfortable in growth environments
