Assistant Accountant

Camberley - on site

£35,000- £39,000 + benefits

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Accountant to support a rapidly growing international IT software and systems business, based in Camberley.

This position reports to a qualified Financial Controller and would be ideal for someone looking to step up and take on more month end tasks, or simply someone who wants a new challenge at a similar level.

Wish List

  • AAT qualified (Level 3 or 4) or qualified by experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent double entry accounting knowledge
  • Ideally exposure to multi-entity/multi-currency environments
  • A capable Excel user

The Role

The successful Assistant Accountant will be responsible for the following:

  • Process supplier invoices, payments, and receipts
  • Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions
  • Manage and process staff expense claims
  • Maintain the purchase ledger and sales ledger
  • Process timesheets and manage queries
  • Contribute to payroll and pensions administration
  • Assist with the month-end and year-end closing procedures
  • Support the year end statutory accounts and audit processes
  • Perform monthly Balance Sheet and P&L reconciliations
  • Support the preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns
  • Contribute to the production of the monthly management accounts pack with support from the Financial Controller
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using the accounting software

We need someone who is a strong communicator, enthusiastic, hard working and willing to get stuck in across a variety of finance duties.

Great attention to detail and an ability to handle queries in a professional manner (both internally and externally) is essential!

Your Profile

We are looking for an experienced transactional finance professional who is focused on continuing their experience in finance & accounting.

Prior transactional finance experience in a multi-entity or multi-currency environment would be a highly desirable but isn't essential.

Sound experience of Excel would be advantageous (Vlookups and Pivot tables)
