Financial Controller – Lead Finance in a High-Growth Tech Scale-Up

Fully Remote

A rapidly scaling software business is seeking a commercially driven Financial Controller ready to step into a No.1 finance leadership role. With strong backing from an experienced Group FD, this is a standout opportunity to own the finance function, shape strategy, and play a central role in accelerating growth — with a clear pathway to Finance Director.

The Role

Partnering directly with the CEO and Senior Leadership Team, you’ll lead financial operations while building scalable systems, insight, and control across the business.

Key responsibilities

  • Own monthly and quarterly group reporting (IFRS compliant)
  • Strengthen financial systems, controls, and reporting frameworks
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and forward planning
  • Provide commercial insight to department leaders and support key decisions
  • Manage statutory reporting, audits, tax, and external advisors
  • Drive profitability, cash flow, and performance improvement
  • Oversee governance, risk, and internal control frameworks
  • Lead and develop a high-performing finance team

About You

  • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
  • Proven Financial Controller or senior finance leadership experience
  • Strong IFRS knowledge (including IFRS15)
  • Commercially minded with strong attention to detail
  • Confident working with senior stakeholders and leading change
  • Hands-on, proactive, and comfortable in fast-growth environments
