A Private Equity backed telecommunications business is looking to appoint an Interim Finance Director to join its senior leadership team for an initial six month assignment.

The business has strong backing, ambitious expansion plans and a leadership team focused on building a high performing, scalable organisation. Finance will play a critical role in that journey.

This appointment is about more than simply holding the numbers together.

he successful candidate will help provide stability, bring clarity to financial performance and ensure the business continues to operate with strong financial discipline during an important phase of its development.

Working closely with the CEO and senior leadership team, the Interim Finance Director will act as both strategic advisor and operational leader, ensuring the business has the insight, controls and financial infrastructure required to support continued growth.

This role requires someone who can hit the ground running quickly, take ownership of the finance function and provide immediate leadership during a key period for the business.

The successful candidate will help steady the ship, evolve the finance function where required and support the transition to a permanent Finance Director later in the year.

What the role will involve

This position carries full responsibility for the finance function and will play a central role in the leadership of the business.

The Interim Finance Director will:

  • Provide financial leadership across planning, forecasting and performance management.
  • Support the executive team with commercial analysis and strategic decision making.
  • Ensure the business has strong financial controls, governance and reporting frameworks.
  • Lead board level reporting and investor communication.
  • Oversee statutory reporting, audit and compliance obligations.
  • Manage cash flow, funding relationships and capital planning.
  • Lead and support the existing finance team during the transition period.
  • Ensure finance systems and reporting processes continue to support a growing organisation.

Your Profile

This opportunity will suit an experienced interim finance leader who enjoys operating within ambitious, fast moving businesses.

Candidates will typically bring:

  • Proven experience operating at Finance Director level on an interim basis.
  • A strong technical grounding in accounting, reporting and financial controls.
  • Experience working within Private Equity backed and scaling businesses.
  • A strong B2B, telecommunications or infrastructure sector background.
  • The ability to combine commercial thinking with operational discipline.
  • Credibility working with senior leadership teams, boards and investors.
  • A pragmatic, hands-on approach and the ability to step in quickly and make an immediate impact.
