Role: Financial Accountant

Location: Newbury (Hybrid working)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Financial Accountant to join a fantastic finance team in Newbury. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting statutory reporting, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified accountant to advance their career in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP/IFRS.
  • Support the month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled and accurate.
  • Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts and liaise with external auditors.
  • Maintain general ledger and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decision-making.
  • Monitor compliance with financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial support and guidance.

Key Requirements:

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified (or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of UK accounting standards and IFRS.
  • Proven experience in a similar financial accounting role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
