Finance Manager

Employment type: Permanent
Salary: 65k/year - 70k/year

£70,000 plus benefits | Central London (Hybrid)

Technology and Retail | Fast growth | Amazing culture

Let’s be really clear up front. This a really exciting and hands on role where you can learn and make an impact. That said, its management accounting and reporting role at its core so owning that process is important.

This could suit someone wanting to step up into this role - there is great support and development.

You will own the monthly close, the management accounts and the quality of the numbers. This is not a reporting by spreadsheet role or a narrow ledger job. This is for someone who wants to run the engine room of finance inside a fast moving, hands on SME style environment.

However there is so much someone can get involved in from accounting to commercial all the way to change and technology!

If you enjoy being close to the detail, improving how things work and actually understanding what is driving performance, you will love this.

This is not your average Finance Manager role.

It suits a qualified or recently qualified accountant who is ready to step up, take ownership and build real credibility. Someone humble, proactive and fun who wants to make an impact inside a high growth, innovative business.

The culture is supportive and people focused, but the pace is quick and the variety is huge. You will get exposure across the whole finance function, from month end and management reporting through to audit, controls, cashflow and projects. It is a brilliant chance to grow fast.

Role

  • Owning the monthly management accounts and reporting cycle.
  • Driving the month end close and ensuring the numbers stand up to scrutiny.
  • Producing variance analysis and supporting decision making.
  • Managing balance sheet reconciliations and tight financial controls.
  • Supporting provisions, purchase ledger and general ledger accuracy.
  • Improving processes to reduce errors and increase efficiency.
  • Assisting with payroll, expenses, budgets and forecasts.
  • Supporting audit, VAT, cash and wider reporting requirements.
  • Partnering with stakeholders across the business on projects and analysis

What you will need

  • Newly qualified or PQE accountant ready for a Finance Manager role.
  • Strong management accounting and month end capability.
  • Comfortable in a hands on SME style environment.
  • A proactive, problem solving mindset.
  • Commercial awareness and confidence with stakeholders.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Above all, a humble, fun and collaborative attitude

Why this role

  • £70,000 plus benefits.
  • Brilliant culture that is innovative, supportive and genuinely fun.
  • A varied role with huge exposure across the business.
  • A real step up into Finance Manager with room to grow.
  • Central London with hybrid working.

This is the sort of role that turns a good accountant into a brilliant one
