INTERIM MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT - CONSULTANCY BUSINESS

2 DAYS IN THE OFFICE, 3 DAYS FROM HOME – 5 MONTH CONTRACT

£400–450 per day (inside IR35)

Are you a hands-on Management Accountant looking for an interim assignment where you can take ownership quickly? Do you thrive in environments where you can steady the ship, improve processes, and deliver clean, reliable reporting?

We Do Group are supporting a London-based consultancy, recruiting an experienced Interim Management Accountant to step in from 16th March 2026 for a 5-month assignment.

This is a visible role. You’ll own the month-end process end-to-end, manage an Accounts Assistant, and help bring structure and clarity to reporting during a period of transition.

WISH LIST

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA / CA)
  • Proven experience delivering month-end in SME or consultancy environments
  • Confident improving processes in imperfect systems

THE ROLE

  • Own the full month-end process from trial balance through to reporting pack
  • Review and oversee transactional processing (AP, AR, bank, expenses)
  • Prepare accruals, prepayments, journals and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Ensure balance sheet integrity and challenge historic issues where identified
  • Produce clear, reliable monthly reporting for leadership
  • Business partner with central functions including HR, IT and Communications
  • Support budgeting and forecasting cycles
  • Identify and implement practical process improvements
  • Work closely with an experienced team member during handover
  • Contribute to early-stage discussions around a future finance system change
  • Provide stability and oversight during a period of internal restructuring
  • Act as a safe pair of hands across day-to-day finance operations

YOUR PROFILE

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CA or CIMA)
  • Effective communicator – written and verbal
  • Good working knowledge of MS Excel
  • Demonstrable experience improving finance processes in SME settings
  • Confident managing stakeholders and holding your own in collaborative environments

RATE & KEY DETAILS

  • £400–450 per day (inside IR35)
  • 2 days per week in the London Bridge office
  • 5-month contract
  • Start date: 16th March 2026
