Payroll Manager

Employment type: Interim
Salary: 300/day - 350/day

We are supporting a fast growing healthcare technology business that is looking to appoint an Interim Payroll Manager to oversee payroll operations.

This is a fully remote assignment for an initial 6 month contract, sitting within the finance function and reporting directly into the Group Financial Controller.

The focus of the role is ensuring payroll runs accurately, compliantly and on time across the organisation while maintaining strong controls and clear communication with internal stakeholders.

The business operates in a highly regulated environment and payroll sits at the heart of the finance function. They are therefore looking for someone who can step in quickly, take ownership of the process and ensure everything runs smoothly from day one.

Wish List:

  • Strong experience managing UK payroll processes end to end
  • Deep understanding of HMRC requirements and statutory reporting
  • Experience working with payroll systems such as ADP or similar
  • Strong Excel capability and confidence handling payroll data and reconciliations
  • Experience overseeing pension administration including auto enrolment
  • Background working in medium to large organisations
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Able to step into an interim environment and stabilise payroll processes quickly

The Role:

  • Own the end to end payroll process ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Maintain payroll data including starters, leavers and contractual changes
  • Validate payroll inputs including allowances, overtime and statutory deductions
  • Manage pension administration and provider relationships
  • Produce payroll variance analysis and exception reporting
  • Manage statutory submissions and HMRC related requirements
  • Deliver year end payroll processes including P60s and reconciliations
  • Act as the key contact for payroll queries across the business
  • Work closely with HR and Finance to ensure payroll and people data remain aligned

Package & Details:

  • £300 to £350 Per Day (Inside IR35)
  • Initial 6 month contract but could extend to 12 months
  • Fully remote working
  • Immediate start preferred

If you are an experienced Payroll Manager who enjoys bringing structure, accuracy and calm control to a busy payroll environment, we would love to hear from you!
