Interim Chief Finance Officer

Employment type: Permanent
Salary: 1200/day - 1500/day

London | Hybrid

£1,200 – £1,500 per day | 6 Month Assignment | Immediate Start

Before we start, we are ideally looking for a large company FD or CFO who has experience operating within a Telco, B2B or wholesale environment.

A fast growth and highly ambitious telecommunications business is looking to appoint an Interim CFO to join its senior leadership team for an initial six month assignment.

The business has strong backing, ambitious expansion plans and a leadership team focused on building a high performing, scalable organisation. Finance will play a critical role in that journey.

This appointment is about more than simply holding the numbers together. The successful candidate will provide stability, bring clarity to financial performance and ensure the business operates with strong financial discipline during an important phase of its development.

Working closely with the CEO and senior leadership team, the Interim CFO will act as both a strategic advisor and operational leader, ensuring the business has the insight, controls and financial infrastructure required to support continued growth.

This role requires someone who can hit the ground running, take ownership of the finance function and provide immediate leadership. You will help steady the ship, evolve the finance function where required and support the transition to a permanent Finance Director later in the year.

What the role will involve

This position carries full responsibility for the finance function and plays a central role in the leadership of the business. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing financial leadership across planning, forecasting and performance management
  • Supporting the executive team with commercial analysis and strategic decision making
  • Ensuring strong financial controls, governance and reporting frameworks are in place
  • Leading board level reporting and investor communication
  • Overseeing statutory reporting, audit and compliance obligations
  • Managing cash flow, funding relationships and capital planning
  • Leading and developing the existing finance team through a transition period
  • Ensuring finance systems and reporting processes support a scaling organisation
  • Driving clarity and insight into financial performance across the business

Your Profile:

This opportunity will suit an experienced interim finance leader who enjoys operating within ambitious, fast moving businesses.

You will bring:

  • Proven experience operating at Finance Director or CFO level in an interim capacity
  • A strong technical grounding in accounting, reporting and financial controls
  • Experience within Private Equity backed and scaling businesses
  • A background in telecommunications, B2B or infrastructure environments
  • The ability to combine commercial thinking with operational discipline
  • Credibility working with senior leadership teams, boards and investors
  • A pragmatic, hands-on approach with the ability to make an immediate impact

The Opportunity:

This role offers the chance to play a key leadership role in a well-backed telecommunications business at an important stage of its journey. For an experienced interim who enjoys stepping into complex environments, providing leadership and helping organisations navigate growth and change, this is a highly visible and rewarding assignment.
