We’re supporting a Private Equity backed services business looking to appoint a commercially minded CFO to help lead the next stage of growth.

This is a business with momentum. Strong investors, ambitious leadership and clear plans to scale. Finance is seen as a genuine driver of performance, not just a reporting function.

The incoming CFO will work closely with the CEO and board, helping shape strategy, improve visibility across the business and build the financial platform required for long-term growth.

This is a broad leadership role with real influence across the organisation. It also has operational responsibility for several functional outside of finance.

The Role

The CFO will take ownership of the overall finance function while acting as a key partner to the senior leadership team and investors.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Act as a cultural and strategic leader during rapid growth and change.
  • Leading all financial planning, budgeting and forecasting activity.
  • Providing commercial insight to support strategic decisions and business performance.
  • Owning board reporting, investor communication and financial analysis.
  • Strengthening financial controls, governance and reporting processes.
  • Managing cashflow, funding and banking relationships.
  • Leading statutory reporting, audit and compliance.
  • Building a high performing finance team capable of supporting future growth.
  • Reviewing systems, reporting and operational processes to improve scalability and visibility across the business.

What They’re Looking For

  • A qualified accountant with top academics.
  • Someone who has had a stable and progressive career. Loyalty showing progression and commercial delivery.
  • This role would suit an experienced finance leader who is comfortable operating in fast-paced, evolving environments.
  • Previous experience as a CFO, Finance Director or senior finance leader within a growth-focused business.
  • Strong technical finance capability across reporting, controls and compliance.
  • Experience working within Private Equity backed, investor-led or high-growth environments.
  • The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.
  • Strong communication skills and credibility with boards, investors and leadership teams.
  • A commercial mindset with the confidence to challenge, influence and support decision making.
  • Experience within telecommications, utilities, services, B2B, infrastructure type environments is essential.
