Financial Controller

Amsterdam | Hybrid, 2 to 3 days in the office

€110,000 + excellent benefits

We Do Group are partnering with an international, PE-backed consumer business to recruit a Financial Controller into a newly developing finance function.

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone entrepreneurial who wants to build, improve and drive.

The business is going through a significant period of change and investment, creating the chance to join at an early stage and help shape the finance environment rather than simply inherit an established role.

This is not a steady-state Financial Controller position.

You will take broad ownership across financial control, reporting, commercial performance and business partnering, working closely with senior finance and operational stakeholders across the wider business.

What will you be doing?

  • Owning the financial control and compliance environment
  • Leading month-end close and balance sheet reviews
  • Ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Supporting commercial performance and decision-making
  • Partnering with senior stakeholders across Finance, Sales and Operations
  • Providing insight around costs, margins, productivity and performance
  • Managing internal and external audit relationships
  • Working across Tax, Treasury, Finance Systems and shared services
  • Improving controls, processes and ways of working
  • Supporting future system and business change projects
  • Helping to build a strong, commercially focused finance culture

What are we looking for?

  • Qualified accountant, ACA, ACCA or CIMA
  • Strong financial control, reporting and compliance experience
  • Commercially minded with strong business partnering capability
  • Background within an international or multinational environment
  • Good understanding of ERP systems and end-to-end finance processes
  • Experience working with shared service or outsourced finance teams
  • Confident communicating with senior stakeholders
  • Able to connect finance with the wider business
  • Hands-on, adaptable and comfortable operating through change
